I am a senior reporter at The Independent, where my current interests include the refugee crisis, terrorism and conflict. Before joining The Independent in 2014 I worked at the Ilford Recorder and other titles in the Archant London group, and also freelanced at the Sunday Times.

I gained my NCTJ Diploma in Newspaper Journalism from News Associates and went on to complete the National Qualification in Journalism while working at the Ilford Recorder. I graduated from the University of York in 2011, where I gained a first class degree in English and Related Literature.

Before qualifying as a journalist I gained experience contributing to local and national newspapers, such as The Guardian and The Surrey Comet, student publications and magazines covering sections from news to music and comment. I have also appeared on request on BBC Radio 4 and Share Radio.
